How to Identify…

How to Identify Your SpigotMaster Model

How can I tell if I have Arrowhead hardware?

As in the image to the right, your spigot will have an arrowhead stamped on it, AND/OR it will have ABP stamped on the side (Arrowhead Brass Products).

Is your irrigation sprinkler system or automated watering system leaking at the hose bib?

If your home was built in the past 20 to 25 years, due to a building code improvement, your outdoor hose spigot may have an anti-siphon device attached to it. The anti-siphon device is designed to stop your garden hose from sucking up dirty water, lawn or yard chemicals, pool chlorine, etc. into your household drinking water.

These anti-siphon devices are an improvement, unless you’d like to put the device under pressure with something like a water timer. Anti-siphon devices are designed to leak when under pressure, defeating the purpose and usefulness of a water timer or similar device. The obvious solution is to remove the anti-siphon device, attach the water timer, then replace the anti siphon device down-flow from the spigot and timer.

However if your home was built using an anti-siphon device manufactured by Arrowhead Brass Products, then the simple solution does not work. The Arrowhead anti-siphon device is attached to the spigot using a non-standard thread. Because of this non-standard thread, a standard garden hose adapter and other threaded pipe connections will not work with the spigot after the anti-siphon device is removed. In fact it may cause damage if used together.

As a result, before the SpigotMaster™ adapter, the most likely solution was to re-plumb your outdoor hose bib. An Arrowhead system includes an anti-frost solution that reaches 6 to 18 inches into the wall of your house, turning this simple problem into a major plumbing and renovation project.

The SpigotMaster™ adapter is exclusively engineered and designed to solve the problem caused by Arrowhead anti-siphon devices.* The SpigotMaster™ adapter simply connects to the end of the spigot or outdoor faucet and the problem is solved! SpigotMaster™ products are made in the U.S.A., manufactured with high quality brass that is NIST traceable.

Warning: The SpigotMaster™ adapter is not an anti siphon device. Removing your home’s anti siphon device could put your drinking water at risk. It is important to attach an anti-siphon device down-flow from the timer, or other pressurizing mechanism.

With SpigotMaster™ there’s no need to…

  • continue wasting water

  • cause damage to the exterior or interior of your home

  • hire high priced contractors to fix the issue

  • spend hundreds of dollars on repairs or countless hours doing it yourself!

*SpigotMaster™ is not compatible with any other makes or models of anti-siphon devices.
